The gripping narrative was written by Martha Reed for Electric Noir Studios to raise awareness of the challenges that online sex workers face on a daily basis, including online abuse, stigma from society, and serious threats to their personal safety, such as doxing and harassment.

The story challenges the victim-blaming culture by portraying women and sex workers as relatable, fallible, everyday people, emphasizing the right of women to live in safety regardless of their jobs or sexual preferences. The Dead Man's Phone series focuses on important social issues that are rarely addressed through the medium of video games.

Sim Cryer, a former British homicide detective, worked as a consultant to ensure the experience was as authentic as possible, as well as lending his acting talents to the final experience as a chief inspector to help you solve the mystery.

Victoria Barrett, an influencer and glamour model, also consulted on the real world of OnlyFans, with Haruka Kuroda hired as intimacy coordinator to advocate and liaise between the cast and the production team to ensure that consent, boundaries, and expectations were set and maintained throughout filming.

Electric Noir Studios is expanding in response to the success of Dead Man's Phone: Redman's first season, with the goal of creating even more interactive stories across a variety of genres for the Scriptic platform.

After receiving a BAFTA nomination in 2020, Electric Noir Studios' critically acclaimed game has a second season out now, with more to come, each with a moving story to tell. Furthermore, the company announced that both seasons of Dead Man's Phone will be available on Netflix under the Scriptic platform later this year.
